I Woke Up With a Piano in My Left Abdomen

It is Wednesday.

My parents arrived last night in the midst of a torrential rainstorm. They stayed for only a few minutes before driving to spend the night at the home of some of their friends.

An hour earlier, my cousin Sue and Aunt Betty dropped by with a load of food from Elegante Pizzeria and Restaurant in Forest City. There is more than enough to feed our family, the Woodalls, my parents, and my two brothers (who will be arriving this afternoon).

Other folks are preparing food, which we are having to store in our pastor's extra refrigerator.

One of my college fraternity brothers, Larry, called last night. I was able to update him on my progress. He said he would let some of my other fraternity brothers know about my condition.

I had a painful night. My pain reached a level of 8 or 9 on a scale of 10. My wife had to call hospice. The nurse increased my dosage of morphine and also told my wife to give me two oxycontin tablets if the morphine did not help. After taking both medications, the pain subsided enough for me to sleep, but never really went away. I woke up this morning with a piano in my left abdomen (actually, it was a bad pain, but having a piano in my abdomen may explain the pain).

First thing this morning I recorded a book on tape for Isaac and worked on letters to share with my children on special events in their lives.

My parents arrived here about 10:00 this morning. The Woodalls left to do some errands and make some visits.

I received several e-mails from college fraternity brothers and enjoyed replying.

At lunch we talked about funeral plans and burial plots. Apparently there are some plots available in the Canaan Corners Cemetery in a section where my mom's parents are buried.

We just had a visit from the home health nurse. She flushed my port and increased the dosage on my fentanyl patch.

We continue to receive many nice phone calls, e-mails, and cards from friends who are praying for us and desire to be an encouragement to us.

Merrily is taking a well-deserved nap while my parents have gone to pick up our children from school.

The children are back from school. We are waiting for the Woodalls and my brothers to get here so that we can enjoy our Italian feast.

Jim - I'm glad your folks have gotten there. I'm also glad that you have a way to manage the pain. Just know that we're here for you too. I've forwarded your blog to Kathy and Tim Burle, Tony and Teresa Ingram, Bill and Bev Walker - and also to some friends at Keller Williams who are journeying with you as well. Our love to you.

Hi Jim,
I am originally from the Honesdale area, but now live down in Lancaster. I check the Wayne Independent Online every now and then to keep up on what's going on up there at home and just saw your story. My Dad was 45 when he had cancer, I was 23, & my youngest brother was 3. I'm praying for you and your family.
Love in Jesus,
Terri

Mr. Bond,
I attended CCA a few years before you became a teacher there. I have heard many wonderful things about you and your family and I just wanted you to know that my husband and I pray for all of you daily.

I read your story in the paper this morning. I am very touched by it. I think I met you briefly quite a few years ago at Wayne Memorial Hospital. I used to work in Human Resources there. I also know your Mom. She is a very sweet lady. I think it is a wonderful thing that you are doing letters and stories for your children. After losing my mom five years ago, I have come to realize that memories are some of our most precious possessions. Some people do not get the opportunity to do what you are doing because things happen so quickly and unexpectedly. I am sure what you are doing for your children will be cherished by them for the rest of their lives. It can't be easy to do, but I admire your strength and unselfishness by taking the time for your family to ensure that they have what they will need to cope. I am praying for you and your family. Miracles do happen.

Good day, sun shines!
There have were times of troubles when I didn't know about opportunities of getting high yields on investments. I was a dump and downright stupid person.
I have never imagined that there weren't any need in big starting capital.
Nowadays, I feel good, I started to get real income.
It's all about how to select a proper partner who utilizes your funds in a right way - that is incorporate it in real deals, and shares the profit with me.

You can ask, if there are such firms? I'm obliged to answer the truth, YES, there are. Please be informed of one of them:

Sorry for interrupting but do you know any expert counselor or family blessings lecturer? I think with all the troubles my family is experiencing, we badly need either of the two. Thanks.

Look at all the comments here. Well if you were talking about divorce maybe I can join in your heated discussion. I’ve just been
to a series of Covenant Marriage Seminars, so I’m kinda touchy about such a topic.
