Is the Hokey Pokey really what it's all about? Or is there something more? Difficult life circumstances help us to cast off the distractions and see what is really important. This blog is an attempt to share what I'm learning about life as a 45-year old pastor and teacher in a battle with Ewing's sarcoma.

Merrily,
You are as beautiful as ever.Your smile is one I can still picture from years past and as I see the current pictures of you It's still there. I am amazed at your strength and energy. I know it all comes from God. Jim is so blessed to have such a wonderful wife and yes it's obvious he knows it. He loves you so much. Yours has always been a love affair. You remember on "Our Walk", how much we couldn't wait to see our husbands? Remember how we talked about them in our bunks. We were like school girls in our dorm. Sparks flew when you and Jim came together. And I know that love is stronger than ever today. I also wanted to tell you how precious the children are. Little Issac is a doll! What a joy he must be to you and Jim. My love and prayers continue daily for you and Jim and the children, Cathie
This might be an odd comment, but it might also be interesting, so here goes... I started reading your blog through Cindy's blog (MyAwesomeOliveShoots). I enjoy your observations, am amazed at your attitude in the midst of such a hard situation, and am always glad to see how the body of Christ is surrounding you and your family with lots of help. I was also surprised to see (twice now) the face of a former classmate of mine. Your pastor's wife, Carol, was one grade ahead of me at Friendship Christian School in Raleigh, NC. I haven't kept up with her at all, but am so happy to find out that she is a pastor's wife. Please give her my greetings - if you can. My maiden name was Mandy Van Dyke. I am now

I’m glad you people have the enthusiasm to passionately comment on this page. My mom is really getting into my nerves so I can’t be as passionate as you people are. Maybe I should ask her to attend a Family Blessings seminar with me.
Very nice photos, but im sorry I thought you where showing photos of Covenant Marriage Seminars.
